Privacy Statement

The Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) is dedicated to protecting your privacy online. The following policy statement outlines how your information will be handled by OAH while using our services.

Information Collected

We collect the following information in order to measure the number of visitors to the different sections of our site and to help make our site more accessible and useful to visitors:

Use of Information

The above information is used to determine what is of the most and least interest, times of peak usage, and missing or broken links. We will not contact you without your explicit permission. We also will not sell, give, or transfer your personally identifiable information to third parties.

Cookies

A cookie is a small amount of data sent from an individual browser to a Web server and stored on a computer hard drive. OAH does not collect extended cookies from its users of our Web site. OAH does however maintain session cookies that are processed during an individual interaction. These are automatically removed when the session ends. No user information is gathered through cookies except for those needed to run a specific application. Cookies are not used to track your visits to our Web site.

Secure Applications

Secure applications such as OAH’s E-file portal provide the opportunity to receive or create a password to access or submit information. You should not divulge your password to anyone. OAH will never ask you for your password in an unsolicited telephone call or e-mail. When you have finished with any password protected application, we recommend you exit the page.

E-mail

If during your visit to the OAH Web site you send an e-mail message, the message and e-mail address may be retained by the server. This may be used to respond to you, to address issues you identify, to further improve our Web site, or to forward the e-mail to another agency for appropriate action. The confidentiality of Internet transactions is not guaranteed. We recommend against sending any personal information in an e-mail. We will not e-mail account related or other personal information as part of our response to you unless specifically requested by you. This information is a public record once you provide it and may be subject to public inspection and copying if not protected by federal or state law (Kansas Open Records Act – K.S.A. 45-215 et seq.).

OAH provides links to various external Web sites. OAH has no responsibility for content or presentation of such external Web sites. By linking to an external Web site, we do not endorse its products, services, accuracy, or security policies. Once you pass to another Web site, not maintained by OAH, you are subject to the terms and conditions of that Web site.
